|My gaimng table as it currently looks !|
The Christmas holiday period once more greatly affected my hobby efforts (as it nrmally does), things have to be 'put way' or got 'out of the way. Why ? "Because it's Xmas !", is the sort of conversions that happens in our house every year. It normally takes me a huge effort to get back to what passes as normal these days and of course with addtional, almost non-stop caring duties, it's been very difficult gearing up to get back into anything hbby realted.
My gaming table was used for Xmas present storiage and acted as my present wrapping station too !
|My painting area !|
Getting this mess and my game table (above) sorted out is top of the priority list.
Top of the paint queue is of course my westerners and I've now made in-roads to tackling this by replacing my current brushes.

The last week also saw two events to celebrate, the first being I had another birthday (^yay^) and on the same day I received notice to attend my Covid vaccination later that week, along with my wife (now much better).
This week also sees the ninth anniversary of this very blog, it's been a strain at times keeping this going but I've managed, somehow to accumulate ovr 460 posts and over 5000 comments, which must mean something, though I'm not sure what !
That's it then for another week, hopefully something hobby-wise will be posted about next week as all I've done in the latst week has consisted of me ruminating over both Western rules and finalising (in my mind) some canoe rules for Jimland adventures.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and apologies for the boring nature of this post, but your comments are still welcomed and appreciated !
Hope you get both areas back to working order soon Joe, Happy belated birthday, and blogging anniversary, may both continue on. Great to hear you and your wife have had your first vaccination.ReplyDelete
Thanks dave, the plan is to get at least one, if not both, back in usable order.Delete
My Wife and I are both happy to have had the vaccine too!
Hope you enjoyed your Birthday Joe.ReplyDelete
Thanks MJT, considering the current situation, I thoroughly enjoyed my birthday !Delete
Everyone in the country has been practising for your birthday, every time they washed their hands, so add my best wishes to the pile. Pictures and status ring far tooo many chords, have only just managed to find my own table and get first photos of the year.ReplyDelete
Thanks Douglas, it takes me longer to drum up enthusiasm once there has been a'pause', but with the arrival of my brushes I'm certainly bettermotivated to do something !Delete
Happy blog birthday Joe. Now go and tidy that table up.ReplyDelete
Thanks Ray, I never thought the blog would last as long as it has, there have been a great many blogs that I used to follow that have sadly fallen by the wayside. It is tempting at times just to give up, but I;m sure I'd regret it.Delete
"I'll do it tommorow" - my usual answer to demands on my time !
Best wishes Joe!ReplyDelete
Thanks you Michal, always appreciatedDelete
WOW I think we both have the same problem on our gaming table & paint table. Too many projects, not enough time to focus on either. My wife is just wrapping up her portion of the Crawlspace cleanout, so should be back to being able to maneuver down there again & maybe set up a solo game while we wait. Cheers....& oh Happy Birthday!ReplyDelete
Thanks Iain, I knew I wouldn't be the only one with similar problems. It's not that we haven't enough space either - it's just that I'm not allowed to utilise it !Delete
It's nice to see someone else has a painting table as messy as mine! Happy belated birthday, and congratulations on nine years of blogging, that's quite an achievement!ReplyDelete
Thanks Matt, I think painting table is a slight exageration atm, th only space left is my cup area (for tea) shown by the red arrow ! It's more akin to a rubbish dump atm.Delete
There's a lot happened during my time blogging most of which I could have never imagined.
Congrats on your birthday and the blog anniversary Joe! 9 years is quite a feat for the blog 😀ReplyDelete
Holy smokes though, that painting desk lol!
Thanks Ivor, there are still quite a few blogs out there that have been around far longer than mine, but I too was surprised at just how long it's been.Delete
The painting desk has been victimisedby all and sundry, - if someone finds something that's looks vaguely mine, it get s dropped on my table!
Belated Happy Birthday Joe & while no one likes getting a jab it will make a big difference for yourself & your wife.ReplyDelete
Don't bin your old brushes as they can be still useful for things like dry brushing.
Thanks Frank, we're both pleased to have had it and waiting now for the second jab.Delete
Birthdays tend not to be a big dealin our house, but I enjoyed it anyway.
I have a separate storgae jsr (2nd pic above in the top left corner) for old brushes, - "I'm Joe, I'm have a problem and I'm a hoarder too"
Thanks Mikko, a most unexpected and welcome message !Delete
Happy birthday Joe! That's a mad painting table, it's funny but I've been painting with a brush that looks like one of your old best ones,I had other, better ones but continued through habit,it has been replaced now!ReplyDelete
Thanks Iain, the very same brushes (with a little less wear)saw me through all of 2020, but it really is time for them to be retired.Delete
I know hte feeling of having a 'favourite' brush, the one you knw how it will alter its shape etc.
