Explorers

John, Paul, George and Ringo (though not necessarily in that order)
as can be seen in the photograph on the right I managed to finish off the three explorers to complete the four-some pack, destined for "Adventures in Jimland"
They'll obviously not win any painting conditions, but they're as table ready as they'll ever be. From my school of miniature painting (the "Slap-dash that'll do school") they're good enough for me at least!
I reckon considering my ever-failing eyesight and degenerating colour vision I've done good. *as they say in the vernacular).
So here's the new individuals, front and back views (as requested by someone)
The guy who knows what he's doing type
Rear view
Guy with mysterious object (in right hand)
(He'll be glad he wore his brown pants)

Guy with all the gear but completely clueless
View the natives will probably see of him
So that's it for this week's show and tell, not much but it does prevent boredom setting in (yours and mine).
It's not all I've been working on though, in the intermittent periods of doom and despondency that filter through my anxiety and depression I've made progress on my four terrain boards (the harbour and three other plain ones), which mostly consisted of completely starting the plain boards from scratch for the third time! the harbour board has had a slight overhaul too, but nothing drastic.
In addition to finishing off the explorers I've also been making great inroads into finishing off the two dozen villagers for my pirate project. I reckon at least half of these should be table ready in a week, so prepared to be bored soon!

 Thanks for taking the time to visit, I hope your journey here wasn't too boring and as always your comments are both welcomed and appreciated, as well as motivating, encouraging, occasionally amusing and definitely I'm sure one of the reasons why we all keep blogging!

    Balls. I've just been to Col. Bill's and I could have looked at the display model to see just what is in that figures hand - that is, I could have if I'd thought about it. Doh!

    I reckon that chap with the binoculars would work a treat as an ornithologist - lets just hope he doesn't spot Clint's vulture circling overhead!

      "Ornithologist" is unfortunately not one of the explorer types to be found in Jimland but strangely there are Anthropologists, Biologists and Botanists!
      As for the mystery object it seems to be bugging me a lot less than yourself now!

    Your postings are far from boring, Joe, I assure you. They're always interesting imho, and that's four fine explorers you've created - who hopefully will soon be exploring your tabletop's jungle :-)

      Thanks Blaxx, it's me that generally finds my stuff boring tbf. The four explorer types are a useful addition and if I get the chance of the four from North Star's range then I think I'd have enough of the explorer types that I want, but fornow I do have enough to play a game, soon....

    OH new terrain boards. What a treat.

    Figure wish I am not a snob if they are good enough for anyone else they are good enough as far as I am concerned.

    As I look at the figures I am reminded of "Carry on up the Jungle"! A film (along with most carry on films) I very much enjoy. Bravo sir.

      Thanks Clint, the new terrrain board shave been being "new" for quite a while now, but I am getting there.
      I've thought about the resemblance to the "Carry on up the Jungle" gang, but can only see Sid James as the great white hunter "Bill Boosey" (the first of the three above)

    Joe, they look great - each one of 'em has got it's own character thanks to your brushwork, so don't knock it! It's better than mine, and I now wear TWO pairs of poundshop readers when I'm painting :-)
    As for the "pirste project", sorry but you've made a typo.
    You wrote 'prepare to be BORED soon' but that should read BOARDED :-)

      Thanks WA, my painting skills haven't really improved since I started painting figures many, many years ago despite my best efforts and all manner of optical aids.
      The pirate project is coming along nicely I reckon and in a few more years will get to where I want it to be. The terrain boards though canbe used for "Jimland" aswellas pirates and the harbpur board could easily make it into azombie scenario too I reckon.

    I particularly like the way you based the jungle Jims. The figures look to me to be squishing their way through some gooey slimy jungle floor muck.

      Thanks Iain, indeed I do now have enough explorers, natives and tribals for a game (just a bit of basing to do on some). IThe jungle is table ready enough too, but the boards themselves need a new lick of paint not that they've been re-done. In eeda bit more terrain too; a stream (in the planning stage) and some roguh ground needs representing too. The various (and numerous) animals that are "needed" will have to be represented by whatever I've got (painted or unpainted) until I collect what I need, but I'm very pleased with the progress I'm making.
