Poundworldbargain buy ? PAH!

So recently (well, in the last month) I as was in one of the many "£1" stores within walking distance of where I live and espied a well know manufacturers of 1/43rd die-cast vehicles (Burago).
I promptly picked up as many ones, I thought I could afford and that were distinctly different in some way from similar ones I already have .
At that moment I was feeling pretty pleased with myself.
I'm no car expert and can't even say  what makes etc. they are individually, but here's the pictures:

A red car!
Erm,...
A blue car with curvy front.
Blue car, with slight curvy rear (ooh err, missus)

Coppery Metallic coloured

Yup, definetly a car
Pick up truck

Seems a bit small
MIB , here we come !
There were some very nice Black SUVs too, so of course I had to have three  (all slightly different too)!
They'll look great escorting a limo (when I get one)

Very black.
Just in case you were wondering about relevance of the title to this post (I know you weren't), when I got to the till I was told that these particular items would cost me £2 each! Whilst causing me a little umbrage at being charged twice the amount I was expecting, I nevertheless coughed up the cash (obviously).
That's it for this week next week will be another tale of my shopping exploits  and a great (imo) 'find', once more from the shelves of £1 stores!

That's it then for another week, real life is still a pain (both literally and figuratively) and the only hobby-related activity I've managed is re-writes of "And a bottle of Rum" as I try to develop them into more of a Role-play game than a 'rp-lite ' (as they say).

As always your comments are both welcomed and appreciated.

    1. Definetly a bargain and yes the truck does look small, so it'll only fetaure in a background role.

  3. Great bargain! While truck looks a bit small, it could be a 'lowered' look that seems to be popular with the younger urban crowd these days. Just add some huge speakers to the back and it will be fine!

    Still great finds!

    1. Thr truck could be a 'youh' thing, Iguess., but speakers in the back are a good idea....

    1. THanks Tamsin, I'd rather have spent a quid on them though.
In my local weekend market there are a lot of cars on sale at a £1 though. (Mostly Matchbox 'large' yesterday models!)

  6. Yawn, next time I'm up North, I'll just leave you a tenner so you can spend it on the poundstuff and I'll collect it on the next visit.

At the speed of my hobby, that should mean I'd get them right on time! :D

I really envy you the pickup, but it does look a tad small!

    1. The pickup, I've decided is a newfashion thing from Japan.
I think I'm alo now addicted to buying vehicles, I've got that many now

  7. At one time the 2 pounds (sorry no pound symbol on N American keyboards) would have translated to $4.50 here in Canada, so that's still a great deal. I am always looking for "normal" non-sporty cars for the Zombie Apocalypse games. Great finds!

    1. Firstly, "Hi" and welcome!(And thnaks for the comment too)
I know the feeling, I've been looking for suitable US style cop squad-cars foryears now (and yellow cabs) and as the exchange rate may as well be £1 to $1 I'll just keep looking for cheap imports.

  10. Good buys I'd say. Coincidentally I was setting up my first Zed table in ages just last night and was noticing the lack of "normal" cars in the collection. Looks like BMW, Merc and Audi drivers all get eaten first!

    2. Yep, there is a plethora of sports cars and 'high end' cars out there, but the working man's runabout can be found but tend to be a bit pricey.

Having said that I scored today, being charged 50p for an item in Poundland! (And i wasn'tadvertised as twofor £! either!)
