Bank and problems

Continuing with my clean up of my old (very old) western buildings, I've managed to get 'down' through the collection and finally reached two of the larger buildings, namely the County Jail house and the Bank.

Photo on the right is the bank and upstairs an Assay office and mining company.

 Another view of the Bank

I've spent more than enough time, trying to get the new look Blogger working, on both Firefox (still not allowing me to upload photos) and Explorer, which allows me to upload photos (after I changed the default htttp optio ('<>' button), but  the machine wants to put them whereever it wants, despite my efforts.

Apart from that and the fact is slow, I guess it's progress of a sort.

In other news, RL is a bit of a downer too.

Having had high hopes of being able to post something this week,  that too was dashed upon the rocks of Blogger.

That's all for this week and whether not there will be anything next week, it's not looking good atm

  1. The bank and office is looking better Joe.
sorry to hear you're still having problems, do you draft and then post later, or write and post straight away ? I find the later is working for me, also I write all the text, and then drop the photo's in where I want, then clear the extra spaces blogger now automatically seems to add in, hope this helps you mate

    1. Thanks Dave, I normally type and insert photographs as I go, but will be trying your method.
This last attempt had me typing and inserting a photogrpah whose position I couldn;t control- not good.
I will be having another attempt, but it's getting harder to drum up enthusiasm for it.
I also read online that this 'change' has mainly be aimed at phone-using bloggers and maybe those not having problems are using their mobiles.

    2. Never use my phone for blogging, always do it on the PC as that's where I do all my work, find it a lot easier than trying to fiddle with the phone. Hope the situation gets easier for you, so it doesn't impact your enthusiasm

    3. Thanks Dave, my enthusiam dosn't really need any more dampening, it's at a low ebb atm.
Hwever, I have tried t remedy the situation with a bit of retail therapy - Hopefully you may see the results soon.

  2. I like the Bank - plenty of room for the "Black Hats" to perform a raid. Since the "New" Blogger arrived, there seem to be frequent changes to it which really doesn't help. Hopefully things will settle down and we may be able to get to grips with how to use it!!

    1. Thanks MJT, the rest of the photographs would have shown the internals too, the Jail (adjoining the bank) and a lot more.
I am so frustrated by the inabilty to post anything comprehensive and I sincerely hope that something is done by Blogger to make life easier.

  3. Sorry to hear RL is giving you problems hopefully not as bad as blogger.
It's a shame about the photos as it would have been nice to see more of the steps leading up to the Assay Office, they look pretty good, I'm interested to see how you constructed them.

    1. Thanks Vagabond, luckily they're not my RL problems, but do affect me.
I have a shedload of photos taken for that session, which I will be trying to put online at my next attempt. The stairs are shared and adjoin the jail. Everything I did all those years ago (about 1970 was done on a shoestring, using whatever I had to hand - mostly plasticard. There were big choices to be made then, figures or materials (and someyimes food etc.)

  4. Nice report Joe. I must say that both IE and Firefox have a lot of problems. I have studied working on the web and I strongly advise to use Google chrome that is much more reliable.

    1. Thanks Ptr, Google Chrome fried my system last time I useit ( a while after it had come out), but I may get desperate anduse it again. I think however ht problem really lies with blogger (and wordpress is seems) as there are many complaints online.

  5. The building is looking good Joe, I don't know if this will be of any use to you but you can click & drag pictures to put them where you want them to be.

    1. Thanks frank, but you can;t really see the amount of damge it's suffrered over the last forty years or so. The damage is far more apparent in the other phots I took.

  6. Good looking building for it's age I'd say! I've stuck with the legacy version and that still seems to work ( for now) silly really as I do everything on my phone you'd have thought I'd like the new blogger but it seemed to make it more difficult even on a phone! Glad you got a post up,hope to see another next week!
    Best Iain

    1. Thanks Iain, Blaxx over at "fantorical" also has had problems after his legacy option was removed and has gon to using "Wix". I used legacy too until it wasn't an option, hope you can cope when it's removed from you.
I will keep trying to post, but the new version of Blogger is very frustrating.
