Blogger Problems

I have no success in uploading photos to my blog and after an hour os of trying, I've given up !
I'm not that techy-knowledgeable  and unless there is a simple 'fix' them I'm stuck !
I was going to post about my latest Jimland adventure, played solo (it was great) and my "In other News" would relate that I've finally finished my Briish for the Sudan.
I'm not the only one that has had problems with this issue (it may be that I've reached the maxmimum photo-spac allowed, or maybe something else, someone probably knows, but not I.

So, bottom line, no post this week of any substance.

  1. Yep, probably a quick and easy solution or an obvious reason but, like yourself, I'd not have a clue as to finding it should it happen to me. Technology outstripped my understanding of it all about five years ago.

Least you'll have plenty to post about when you do get it sorted.

  5. That is even worse than the epidemic... You must get back on track as soon as possible my friend. Maybe start a new blog of yours? Zab II!? ;)

    1. Thanks Ptr, yes this was a shock to the system, but I doubt I'll start another blog.
Jope you and your ever-growing family are staying safe.

  6. Starting a new blog would be an easy thing to try. Create a basic blog, start a new blog post and attempt to upload a photo. If it works, then solution found. If it doesn't, then the answer is probably that a limit has been reached on hosting photo images.

If that is the case, then possibly creating a new Google email account, with an email address just linked to a, new, second blog you'd create, might give you a brand-new chunk of free storage space to upload photo images to a new blog.

    Just a thought.

    1. Forgot to add to the first paragraph, above, that should it not work - that method - then the second blog could be deleted with no loss to the first.

    2. Thanks Roy, all very good suggestions and I may also consider a different blogging platform too.

  7. Well, this is concerning! I'm afraid I'm something of a luddite but I will wait patiently for the return of Jimland and your Sudanese Brits!

    1. Thanks Iain, yes I too fall in the category of 'Luddite'. I will probably end up posting a few photographs on one of the many Facebook pages I'm on.

    1. Thanks Frank, I must admit that I'd already suspected that most of my followers would fall in the category of 'not very techy' (and probably a lot of non-followers too!)
I'll continue to try and sort the problem at a future date, maybe, probably.

  9. Ok, so I've managed to upload a photo using a different browser (Microsoft "Bing" (or something like that - it's "e" on my computer. This is not that satisfactory from my pov (an unknown browser thing), but at least it's progress !

  10. e with a ring around it (like Saturn) on a 45-degree angle? If so, Internet Explorer.
I'm using Google Chrome. No idea what all these things mean or do, however. Picture is visible in this post.

  11. Well the good news is that you've not reached your storage limit. Somewhere you can see how much you've used against a 15gb free limit, so you should be able to resolve that at least.

I've had a message come up on my blog about trying the new blogger but just know if I do it will screw up. Of couse eventually if I don't it will screw up as well. Dohhh.

    1. https://one.google.com/u/0/storage

Shows what percentages you've used and then has a link to a page on how to manage those percentages, such as deleting things or how to have things use less space.

    2. Thanks Vagabond, though I can't see how using different servers helped the memory size limit usage? The program is the same on both servers; it's still a mystery to me.

  12. Spotted this blog post on another blog earlier on

    https://doctorphalanx.blogspot.com/2020/04/blogger-problems.html

I've noticed a number of blogs are not displaying images, just a grey-white-circle-rectangle image instead. There is a link in the above blog post where someone has brought that issue to Google's attention. Google states they are aware and working on it.

    2. Roy: I've now read quite a few posts of people having problems on various platforms.
The cicle thing is prevalent on old post in forums too - may be an automatic space saving thing.

Vagabond: My computer (running Windows) has, today, now made an album of my "best" photos for April 2020 !!!

    1. Thanks Dave, I've a feeling that most of my followers are rather more mature gamers and if like me, are concerned with fellow bloggers I felt it very important to keep some form presence.
