The objective |
The scenario would start with my now usual set-up of six zombie spawn points, spawning either one or two zombies per turn on a roll of a one or two as I set the initial Encounter Rating as 3 for the city (normally four but it was early morning). A roll of a 5 or a 6 would indicate a spawn point had been deleted with the proviso that the first soawn to be depleted would be #1 (in the left centre left of the table-top view above), immediately next to their starting point.
There would also be three Possible Enemy Forces counters set-up on the right hand two thirds of the table, with an Initiative value of 4 (I don't use reps).
The only other thing to be dealt with was whether or not Jerome would hold his gang together overnight, he had lost members during the day (the East Side Alamo) and the Safe House scenario was on the same day but had also gained new meembers during the search of their current house and the Safe House next door for a current modifier of zero. He had however has some form of Bromance going on with Washington so would gain a die to his advantage when dealing with him,
The upshot of all this was that three of the gang snuck away during the night (Bunny, Claud and Leroy -all civilians), leaving him still with a respectable gang of six !
Here's their stats:
Initiative Leadership Shooting Melee Driving Fitness
Jerome: 4 4 3 4 3 3 Rifle & BA pistol, Knife
Washington: 4 4 5 5 4 5 Shotgun, BA Pistol, Knife
Bubba 4 3 2 3 5 3 Chair leg
Chuckles 3 3 3 4 3 2 SMG, Pistol
Jax 4 5 2 3 5 2 BA Pistol, Knife
Patience 3 3 3 5 3 4 Knife, BA Pistol (no ammo)
(Jax and Patience are Civilians)
Although Jerome still had a single ammo reload he opted not to use it at this point -
Note: Throughout this scenario #1 son threw all the dice and made all the decisions for the gang!
I took over 100 photographs throughout this scenario and have only managed to edit and sort through less than half of the, so that's it for this week! Unfortunately real-life commitments have impeded any further progress in the write-up but the scenario has been played to a conclusion over the course of two sessions and hopefully be written up next week.
For those participating in Zomtober, good luck and I'll be looking forward to what you produce, as I'll not be participating.
My other blog this week features WWE wrestlers as criminals and can be found HERE
Nice 'Season Opener' tease, Joe, and I'm looking forward to following another of your terrifically atmospheric BatReps. As Arnie says in Predator: "Get to the RV...!!" or at least he would have if you'd written the script :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Blaxx, I wished I'd had to the time to write up more, but as you say that it's a good tease, I'm happy to live wih that.
DeleteSounds intriguing. I wonder why the encounter rating is 3 have the zombies been out partying all night?
ReplyDeleteShall look forward to more on this.
I set the ER at 3 with reference to a free scenario that Ed Teixera wrote that varied the ER's of an area dependant on the time of day. As this was an early morning scenario I set the ER at one less than the "normal"; during a scenario it's often the case that ERs will increase due to PEF resolution, but rarely do they decrease. and in addition the ER will also increse at f there is a time od day change.
Deletelike the sound of this, will wait for the next installment!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fran, same time same place next week then ?
DeleteI do enjoy your games Joe, looking forward to the next update.
ReplyDeleteThanks you Michael, let's hope this is as enjoyable as others.

DeleteThe return of Jerome is exciting but see only 2 pictures out of 100?!!! I need more pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Otherwise can't wait.
ReplyDeleteThanks Robert and apologies for the lack of photographs, but real-life issues have a way of interupting my scheduleing.
DeleteComing soon to a blog near you! Looking forward to it Joe.

ReplyDeleteThanks HW, I'm sure I'll have a lotmore next time.
DeleteShould be interesting, but oh my! You've really left us hanging here, haven't you :-) ?
ReplyDeleteThanks C6, if there had been any chance in in the last week of getting more done, I would have done it. I could just as easily have skipped posting this week, but hoped this 'taster' would suffice.
DeleteGreat intro and setup for the main event! I can't wait to see how well the gang does on their mission.
ReplyDeleteThanks N667, even thugh I'm an observer in most of my games, I thoroughly enjoyed this scenario and it did have its 'moments'

ReplyDeleteThanks Ray, it was very entertaining.
DeleteDo not keep us waiting too long for the next episode.
ReplyDeleteI'll try no to Clint; it should have been a longer post but I'm sure you'll be aware how real-life has a way of interfering with any plans I make.
