Storage sorted for at least a year or two |
Tuesday saw me once more at my local grocers asking if he had a couple of veggie trays that I could have for use with my 54mm figures for my arena and for my ever-growing car collection. When he came out of 'the back' where he stores these ready for disposal, he had a stack of a dozen (one is missing from the photo btw). I was of course delighted and immediately used one to relieve the ever-growing overpopulation of my 54mm beasts, victims, gladiators and others.
On the hobby-front I managed to cut a piece of foamboard for my church into roughly the size needed for the area of the altar at the back of the church. My enthusiasm for this build has been faltering of late as I have become aware of how large a project the whole thing would be and despite cutting corners by using
The all 'new' all singing paint table |
Wednesday I had a tidy-up of my paint table forced upon me.
A quick back-story is probably in order.
At Xmas, my table was moved to allow for the addition of decorated fake flora and it has taken me until now to return it to its rightful place in the sun!
Unfortunately during the move the entire thing collapsed in on itself scattering paints, figures and sundry other items in gay abandon.
It did however give me the opportunity to 'tidy up' the whole thing and it did give me a bit of encouragement to once more look at painting some of my 28mm stuff - something I haven't done for well over a year!
I did take some photographs of the resultant debris but as in all things techy, in my case, if it can go
wrong it will as the photographs are in my camera but I can't retrieve them.
Still on the paint-table after a year or so! |
I've even managed to do a little extra too, simply adding the final colour to their bases, but that's as far as I've got.
In the background of the photo above you can also see the latest figures that I have ready for the arena (they're the 54mms just in case you haven't realised!)
I can't see me doing much hobby-wise this week, I've both a hospital appointment and an imminent Doctor's appointment to fit in with being grumpier and older.
That's it for this week, on what has been a bit of a soul destroying last seve days.
Sounds like you're not having much fun at the moment, but there are definitely positives to be had here - the storage solution for one.
ReplyDeleteThanks Michael, I'm not normally affected by such setbacks, but I've a lot going on in the real world atm.
DeleteThose storage bins are aces Joe, keep on grumbling old boy!
ReplyDeleteThanks dGG, all I've got to do now is organise !
DeleteThe grumpier the better, like the look of the fuzz!
ReplyDeleteThanks AL, it's only taken 16 months for them to get to that stage.
DeleteNow that is a proper painting area full of bizzes! Looks ace to me. Grump away you do realise they are going to make it an Olympic sport and we will need a few top athletes to fill out the team especially against the German!
ReplyDeleteThanks Clint, but you should see the tray of stuff that was removed after the disaster. I could easily grump for England.
DeleteThere is something about the 1930s policemen that stops people from painting them, I tell you that.
ReplyDeleteI still have my 2013 Salute Dixon (I think?) police officers based, waiting to be painted. I am not sure why, I think my first excuse was I wouldn't get the colours right!
I'm not entirely sure abou my colours either; fro what I can gather the 'blue' can be just abot anything from a very light hue to very dark, almost black. Buttons and badges seem to vary too, between 'gold' and silver.
DeleteI started these for my gangsterrs smply becauseI like painting uniforms rather than the time consuming individual clothing of he civilian population.
Well you've done far more than I have with my own hobby stuff, because I haven't even been in the same room as my gear in over a month and I'm really not interested in them at the moment.
ReplyDeleteI've been neglecting looking on people's blogs, too. So I've gone through the posts on your church that I've missed and got up to date. It's certainly coming along, and together, nicely and spotting bits and pieces that you've done has made me think about my own model church (a mdf 4Ground old west one) that I need to finish making (over three months half-made now) and then I need to furnish it. As ever though, everything with the hobby seems to require money outlay, even on the things you didn't think would need money spending upon them, so that's another reason that I've been neglecting my own hobby output.
Here's hoping the next seven days go better for you! TTFN.
I feel like I've done next to nothing and it's taken me forever to do what little I have.
DeleteMoney constraints for hobby related stuff has been a constant wih me for several years now - I feel the pain.
gay abandon is the worst.
ReplyDeleteThanks BF, that made me chuckle
